COETZER OPTICALFIBER NETWORK SYSTEMS Technical Inquiry

Latest Developments in Optical Wavelength Division Multiplexing

Here, we develop a novel design approach that co-optimizes inverse-designed wavelength division multiplexers and distributed Bragg gratings to achieve ultra-low crosstalk without compromising insertion loss. The packaged photonic chip demonstrates a remarkable 512 Gbps aggregate bandwidth with a BER < 1e-9. The WDM enables the simultaneous transmission of multiple optical signals with different wavelengths over a single optical fiber, while the optical amplifiers amplify. Keywords – bandwidth, multiplexing, optical network unit, OCDM, passive optical network. Fiber optic technology emerges as a pertinent solution to counter these problems.
