  5. Remove the Optical Module: While holding the latch in the released position, carefully grasp the sides of the module and pull it straight out of the port using steady, even force. Avoid twisting, rocking, or using excessive force .

  6. Protect the Connectors: Immediately place dust caps on both the disconnected fiber connector and the exposed optical bore of the module. If storing the module, place it in an anti-static bag .

  7. Inspect the Port: Check the now-empty port for debris or bent pins and clean if necessary using compressed air designed for electronics .

Additional Considerations
  • Hot-Swappable: Huijue SFP modules are generally hot-swappable, meaning you do not need to power down the switch to remove the module. However, removing a module may interrupt service on that port, so plan accordingly .
