  3. Router Configuration: Access the router's admin panel via a web browser (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1). Enter ISP credentials if required, and update firmware for optimal performance. Optionally, enable Quality of Service (QoS) for applications like VoIP or video conferencing.
  4. Testing: Verify the connection by checking internet access on a connected device. Ensure the fiber signal is stable and the router is distributing the connection properly.
Important Considerations
  • Direct Connection Not Possible: Standard routers cannot interpret optical signals; the ONT is essential for signal conversion.
  • Handle Fiber Carefully: Fiber connectors are sensitive; avoid touching the glass tip and ensure dust caps are removed only when connecting.
  • Cable Quality: Use high-quality Ethernet cables (Cat6a or higher) to maintain the full speed potential of fiber internet.
